Led by K Kennedy, painter and multi-discipline artist

Junior art club focuses on coaching children aged 8+  according to their current level in painting and drawing primarily whilst also introducing new mediums such as clay, printing and mosaics from time-to-time. The club aims to take a different approach to school art which doesn’t always allow time for participants to develop their own passions or line of interest with support. We coach in  comic art or illustration as well as formal drawing and painting depending on student’s interests and natural skills. We can also support portfolio development  and offer specialist career or career guidance as well as encourage competition entries.

Shown in the gallery is Hannah (age 11) manga illustration. Hannah arrived as just a pencil artist. Also shown is Valentina’s portrait which was one of three paintings which were all selected to appear in this year’s Turner Contemporary.  Also shown are some of Quentin’s drawings. Quentin was awarded 1st place in Thanet’s Young Artists Rotary Competition for his age and has also had work shortlisted for the Turner Contemporary.

Classes are priced at £15/1.5hr session plus £2.50 materials. The ticket price is based on 10 sessions. It is also possible to pay in blocks of 5 sessions. Please enquire for details.
