This is a 5 week course which is suitable for chidren aged 6-11 which teaches different handbuild pottery techniques including pinch pot, coil and slab as well as different surface decorating techniques including use of slip and glaze. Pieces will need to dry out completely before they can be bisque fired and painted in later weeks. The painted pieces then need to be dipped in transparent glaze for a final firing before being ready for collection.

The gallery is closed to the public for the duration of the workshop and the workshop is run by DBS checked practitioners. This is a drop-off workshop ie just for children not for adults (we run a separate class at 10.30 which is open to families as well as adults which is more suitable if you wish to participate with your child).
